​April 2025, Liah made an unexpected new friend - Shelly the Tortoise.
The rescue happened during one of Liah’s dog walks with London Pet Club. While out and about, Liah spotted a tortoise in the middle of the road and immediately sprang into action, rushing her to safety.
After making a few calls, Liah brought her to a local vet, who welcomed her without hesitation. At the vet, it became clear that Shelly wasn’t well. She was diagnosed with a respiratory infection and needed proper medical care.
To everyone’s surprise, the vets estimated that Shelly could be around 40 years old!
While Shelly received care, Liah visited regularly and tried to track down her original owners. Unfortunately, Shelly wasn’t microchipped, and despite reaching out to local community pages, no one came forward.
2 weeks later, the vets called with great news that Shelly was well enough to leave and was ready for a new home.
Liah didn’t hesitate for a second and adopted her immediately.
Shelly now enjoys a happy life filled with London park adventures, fresh greens, and spa days.
She’s a gentle reminder that sometimes, the best surprises come when you least expect them.
